Welcome to Bangkok, future expat neighbour! The City of Angels is a great place to live, and sure to be a memory you will never forget! There is so much to see and do that you will never be bored, the city is full of culture, cuisine, and entertainment to suit all tastes.
The people are friendly, and despite being one of the largest cities in Asia, it’s also one of the safest!

Now, here are some of your options, and they are all fantastic!
Sathorn- This scenic area is home to many premium hotels, and features gorgeous ancient temples along the river’s bank making you feel as if you’ve stepped into another time. Get some exercise by taking a stroll in the spacious Lumpini Park, a natural oasis among the high rises.
There are a wealth of attractions here, cocktail bars, classy restaurants, jazz lounges, and great shopping! Once you are here you have everything at your doorstep! Here are some tips to feel at home abroad.
- Sukhumvit – This is the most popular area in Bangkok that expats enjoy calling home. The street is an entertainment and shopping hub, and a fun place to people watch as you sip a cold drink in a street side bar. If you love the nightlife, this is the place for you, there are tons of clubs and restaurants to enjoy, and the food is always amazing!
- Silom– The “Wall Street” of Bangkok by day, the sombre business-like streets magically transform into a wonderland of entertainment by night making Silom is great place to work and play! The adjacent entertainment district of Patpong is a kind of adult amusement park, let’s just say that in most places a red light means “stop”, but here it means “go-go!”
- Asok – This is one of the most convenient locations in Bangkok, all roads and train lines seem to lead here! The BTS stations and the underground MRT line connect around the famous crossroads so you can travel easily to any part of the city. There is plenty to do right here in Asok, from risqué nightclubs at nearby Soi Cowboy to easygoing cafes and delicious international cuisine, it’s a fun place to be 24 hours a day!
- Ekkamai – A beloved hangout of hipsters, Ekkamai’s many nightclubs, restaurants, shopping malls, and delightful street food make living here a joy. The Eastern Bus Terminal is close by so it’s a great starting point for adventures beyond beautiful downtown Bangkok. The BTS line also stops here, so getting from Point A to Point B is as easy as pie.
