Self Help and a password-free world

Forecasting the future of web development is no soothsayer’s cup of tea, nor the ability of a seasoned software professional to predict, the limit of human advancement in this field. The forecasts can never be accurate but what we follow is the current trends and look at the extremity of it. The developers are gifted visionaries, who has a knack of pushing the bar above and always quest for more refinement and agility.

For example, in a software program, it is a constant process to fix bugs, beef up security, remove glitches, and ensure a smooth running experience. We are quite familiar with various software versions being downloaded automatically in our smartphones and PCs as a part of a regular maintenance and upgrading process. We participate in this action happily, one because they are free and two, they are only good for our gadget or our computer as it will improve and enhance the overall performance.

Similarly, the future of web development is a continuous process. The upgrades shall continue to happen wherever there is a scope or necessity. The developers are always in a mission to upgrade and enhance, to create a better experience for the users/customers, and create a secure and safe platform to rely upon. However security will remain as the primary concern for generations to come and more efforts would be seen in developing foolproof mechanisms to protect client data and secure sensitive information, extensive use of similar technologies like the AI, enhancing the speed of operations, interconnectivity of web applications and an excellent user experience shall dominate the demand list and shape up the future of web development.

Self Help websites

It is too early to comment that it’s bad news for the front-end web developers, but self-creating websites are very fast catching up with the public demand. The new software technologies like Word Press and Dream weaver has simplified the process of web site creation and development. The software provides preset templets and various formats that can be purchased or subscribed at a fraction of a cost and the website content can be loaded page by page. When the content is ready the site can be uploaded or made Live on a pre-purchased domain.

This technology limits the dependence on front-end developers to a great extent who were on high demand a few years back. Be it the style or appearance of your website, its tabs/pages, creating and designing of your website, uploading content, and making it Live, for every step we were dependent on the web developers.

Another step forward in the development of the CMS programs. This technology allows retailers to create online stores all by themselves without having any prior skill in writing codes. It is a simplified process for the users or Potential buyers who can insert useful content about their products and services in special fields of CMS engine. For business owners, CMS technology is a boon as now they can relax and enjoy its benefits.

With the current development, it is appropriate to forecast that the demand for front-end developers will see a significant reduction, and the developers would gradually shift to back-end jobs like maintenance, consulting, customer service, or other customized jobs. The manual jobs of front-end coding are set to reach its limitations and gradually gets phased out. In years to come, the process of creating new websites are set to get simpler, where one can utilize the ready-made templets suitable for setting up online business platforms.

A Password Free world

How many of us might have dreamt of a password-free web experience? The future of web development is geared to make this a reality. The technology already in practice on a limited scale at present in the forms of unlocking out smartphones, downloading software from the play store, or App Store. The process of remembering multiple passwords and user IDs for multiple websites for web accounts is a tedious task in itself and we have a common tendency to forget or mix up among User Ids and passwords. Some websites also demand complex combinations of letters and special characters and numerical which are hard to remember.

The extensive use of biometrics is the future of unlocking web accounts and websites. The device would use face recognition technology or finger impression to unlock personal web accounts, sensitive documents stored on the web, banking sites that demand more security, and our devices.

The bright side of this technology is that it will be hard to steal data and break in sites that are locked with biometric codes. Cracking passwords, data theft, hacking of sites, and stealing sensitive information, personification & cybercrime can be controlled to a great extent. Biometrics are already in practice during the issuance of passports, got identity cards, voter cards, at the immigration gates at airports, they are so far the most reliable means of storing personal details with minimum chance of leakage/sabotage. The future web developers have to keep in mind these path-breaking technological advancements and integrate these systems into their work process. The future websites will abandon passwords and start using the biometric system to log in. Future websites will be more secure for online transactions as fingerprint, face recognition, retina scan image or even voice recognition will add on to the security aspects. The GPS can determine the location of the user and keep a tab of each online activity.
