It sure sounds too good to be true, and that is because it is. The jade roller only claims to do all of these things, up until now, there have been zero scientific studies that can prove it.

The Sauna Belt

There is a common misconception that has been around since as long as I can remember. And it is the fact that sweating makes you lose weight.

If you do not know, we sweat because that is the only way our body knows how to cool its temperature. There is no other scientific explanation for this process.

And saying that a belt that can make us sweat will automatically burn calories to shed the extra fat in the area it is tied to is a totally and utterly preposterous claim, yet people fall for it.

If you think about it, we sweat buckets in the summers, and hardly a drop in winters. So does that mean we are skinnier in the summer than we are in December, I think not.

The Detox Tea

This one is a bit scary. Scrolling through Instagram and Facebook, you must have come across a celebrity who would be raving about his or her experience with the Detox tea.

Let me tell you, never fall for it.

The Detox Tea sounds way too good on paper.

  • It helps in detoxification of the body and cleansing it.
  • It also boosts the immunity of the drinker, with it hundreds of natural and some unnatural ingredients.
  • And yes, it also gives you a flat tummy.

This is all fine; however, the reported side effects of this drink will make you think otherwise.

Drinkers have reported

  • Abdominal pain
  • Cramps
  • Bloating of the stomach
  • Nausea and constant puking
  • Along with a weakened digestive system

All thanks to this tea. I would recommend green tea over this one on any day of the week.

The Hair Pills

The last one is related to hair. There are many people all over the world, who consider their hair to be their best feature.

Consequently, these people would become a target for the marketers, who want to sell their so called hair products.

Sugar Bear Hair is one of the biggest names in this segment. The Kardashians are avid supporters of them; at least it appears so from their social media accounts.

These hair pills help in

  • augmenting hair growth,
  • strengthening your hair by reducing the damage,
  • and make them as shiny and lustrous as in a shampoo commercial.

Do you think that happens? I am sure you can guess the right answer by now.

The side effects will make you believe me and stay a hundred kilometres away from them. Constipation and acute diarrhoea are the most severe symptoms, the persistence of which can make you visit a doctor.

In the end, all I want to say is prioritising your health is understandable, but don’t use the internet and its unsupported claims to improve your health.

If you feel that your face needs a massage, use your fingers.

If you feel that you have gained weight, exercise or better yet join the gym.

If you feel that your immunity is weak, consult a doctor.

If you feel that your hair is weak and rough, get yourself a spa or a scalp treatment.

Whatever you do, don’t trust the internet blindly. There is a high likelihood that the internet’s solution will leave you far worse than you were before.
