Lifetime is a big term. From birth till departure, it’s a long run generally. There are an enormous amount of factors in life if we see them. However, there are few that we cannot control, and they come perhaps just by the grace of living. They are called gifts. Getting someone a personalized product speaks volume about the one giving it. There is satisfaction in knowing that you have gifted a thoughtful present and have put in the effort to make it memorable. Some of the prime gifts of life are these:

  1. Birth
  1. Body
  1. Education
  1. Nature
  1. Work
  1. Friends and family
  1. Country

  1. Birth

Birth is the reason any one of us is here. We have seen so much, and we perhaps can never know what all we have seen and understood in a lifetime, or anyone else for that matter.

The big adventure of life, the tremendous potential of mind, the happy, the sad, and multiple other emotions, the seemingly unending space of Mother Earth, all are experienced due to the first event of birth. Perhaps the greatest thing on earth is birth.

  1. Body

The very cause of experiencing anything in the body. Full understanding of anything around cannot be done without the presence of a body. We as we know us and what others know us as it’s all body.

The identity that one has is entirely body because whatever a person is going on inside, thinking, feelings, etc., is never visible by the other person. So the body is the only source with which we connect to the outer world.

  1. Education

The brilliance of life is imbibed within one due to education. As the title song of the famous U.S sitcom “the Big Bang theory” goes, “Maths, science, history unraveling the mystery that started with a big bang!”

Education enables us to face challenges, come up with solutions, contribute to society for overall growth, and come up with innovations, inventions, and breakthroughs, which were never heard or seen before. Education helps us attain efficiency so that we can earn our living and make a name for ourselves in society. Any field it is manufacturing, retail, entertainment, etc., needs education to be well versed in.

  1. Nature

The most important part of life is nature. Flora and fauna constitute what we have to share our lives with as humans. We don’t have much to ourselves if not for nature. We are a part of nature, though ironically, we go against it sometimes for our more commercial benefits. The eternal existence that cannot be covered in a lifetime, the seemingly infinite length of the earth, the unknowable nature of life keeps us human beings going forward. Nature has given us all that is required and perhaps more that we are unaware of. As a whole human race, we can never repay nature, except with perhaps our dead bodies for recycling nature.

  1. Friends and family

Family is what I am made of. What we are in front of the world is a reflection of the family we come from. One family is where we are born and amidst who we grow up. The second family is when we enter the world, perhaps from pre-school and forward. We make friends, and they become like our second family. We are comfortable in an outside environment due to our friends; otherwise, we may feel out of place.

Family and friends define our immediate identity outside. Imagining a life bereft of friends and family will be just like a body in a flow, no identity or coherence for that matter. Certain things that we cannot share with even parents can be easily shared with friends without hesitation. There are times when no one can save you, those times friends become greatest saviors, so many films and series are made on the concept of friendship, and most of them are blockbusters. The reason is friendship is our savior in the world.

  1. Work

Another very essential gift in life is one’s work. It’s an old saying that “Work is worship.” Even in Srimad Bhagavad Gita, it is written that Karma (work) is the way to attain Providence Divine.

One’s whole identity, social perspective, social usefulness, and worth in the eyes of relatives, friends, and family entirely depend on the work. Some people love the work they do; others start loving it with time; however, even demons can turn into saints by working in the right direction.

  1. Country

The country we are born in is also a great gift. I feel privileged to have been born in a country like India. One’s identity is inevitably intertwined with the country they are born in. A nation is a big opportunity for one to put their life efforts towards for. The magnitude of one’s admiration towards the country is often directly proportional to the capabilities of an individual. Doing well for one’s country is a big motivation for individual success as well.

For example, Neeraj Chopra won Gold Medal in Men’s Javelin at the Olympics. His motivation was country. When we work for something way bigger than us, like a country, we excel as the energy and motivation to do so just multiply.

Ellie Bennington can usually be found reading a book, and that book will more likely than not be a romantic fantasy. Writing a novel was always on her bucket list, and soon, it will became a reality. When not absorbed in the latest heart warming page-turner, Ellie loves cooking, knits very badly, enjoys riding her Vespa around town, and otherwise spends far too much time at the computer. She lives in the States, with her sister and cute little kitten named Zazzles.
